Welcoming Vemdalen

With the well-groomed pistes and snowsure conditions together with modern ski lifts and varied skiing Vemdalen has risen to the prominent position as one of Sweden’s most popular ski resorts. But Vemdalen is also an all-year destination offering lots of outdoor experiences during the bare-ground seasons – such as hiking, cycling and horseback riding, golf, hunting, and fishing.

TRAVEL: BY CAR & BUS

The distance by road Stockholm–Björnrike is 480 km and using the motorway for more than half the way, the journey is safe and quick: about 6 hours. From Sundsvall 210 km, Gävle 300 km, Malmö 920 km and Gothenburg 650 km. Coaches leave Cityterminalen in Stockholm via Uppsala and Gävle three days a week.

TRAVEL: BY AIR

The smoothest flights from Stockholm arrive in Sveg with a mere 45-minute transfer by road to Björnrike. More regular flights land in Östersund directly from Stockholm, Malmö, Gothenburg, Visby, Umeå, London and Copenhagen. The 120 km transfer Östersund-Björnrike takes about 90 minutes. A quicker transfer from the airports may be done by helicopter to the villa’s helipad.

TRAVEL: BY TRAIN

During the winter season Vemdalen is serviced by an overnight train service from Malmö, Hässleholm, Alvesta, Nässjö, Jönköping, Norrköping and Stockholm.
